Issue #1 is out. Meet the women reshaping Mauritius's real estate industry
Cover Story: Diana Bastuck, Luxury Listings
On our cover is Diana Bastuck of Luxury Listings, one of Mauritius's leading luxury property advisers, named Agent of the Year in 2025 after more than Rs 1 billion in sales. One deal stands out: an off-market villa at Anahita, secured for a client before it was ever listed. For her, luxury real estate is about understanding what clients hope for, protecting their interests, and building trust that lasts long after the sale.
The Interview: Natacha Emilien, Founder of Board of Good
Natacha Emilien has chaired a listed property investment company, one of the few women to do so. Her path there wasn't obvious: nearly ten years as an engineer in France, then a leap into financial services, then a firm acquired by EY. Her initiative Board of Good began with 50 profiles of women leaders and now counts more than 600, with over 60 taking board seats.
She Leads Business: 15 Women, 11 Ways to Build
From boutique founders to international networks, this is where the real estate industry's structure is quietly rewritten.
Some built from nothing: Angélique Dalais Romburgh, who created Home by Angélique from scratch, and Patricia Saramandif at Alternativa Lifestyle. Others lead teams inside bigger names: Caroline Raffray heads the Pointe d'Esny team at Beau Vallon Property, while Amy Lailai Yang, Michaela Dankova and Odessa Gauclain run RE/MAX 24 together. Several bring international brands to Mauritius: Valeria Ivic at LIVERIA International Realty, Céline Vallée Lacoste at Michaël Zingraf Real Estate Mauritius, Karen Thornalley at Propertyfinder Mauritius, and Divya Sisafte at DS Immobilier. Rounding out: Frédérique de Beer at Park Lane Properties, Lindi L'Introuvable at La Collection Maurice, and Sharine Quinn of QuinnStreet Properties.
Eleven companies, one shared conviction: they built these businesses in their own image.
Women in Construction: Nishtha Woochit
When the call came, Nishtha Woochit was managing projects in the United Kingdom’s nuclear sector, one of the toughest delivery environments in modern industry. Her father was stepping back from Eastern Stone Crusher, the company he had founded in 2000 with his own father and brother, and asked his eldest child to take his place. She came home.
Today, as Director of ESC Construction Ltd, she is on site, enforcing safety standards and working directly with suppliers.
Mother to Daughter: Villa Vie
In 1982, Françoise Maujean started Villa Vie by helping friends find holiday homes, back when tourism still revolved around hotels. Today her daughter, Sophie Hardy, carries it forward after years abroad and in tourism.
And these are just a few of the women filling this first issue.
Séverine Dalais-Pietersen opens her day at Seeff Properties, Élodie Rey is reshaping smart cities at Azuri Village with the women of MaxCity Group/Montebello, and Bénédicte Duvivier built a transaction business from scratch at The Smart Syndic.
Six professionals give their real read on rental yields in Market Voices, and in Life Beyond Work, you'll find out what these leaders do when they're not closing deals
